I thought I would make a post showing examples of the cards in my Top Ten Most Wanted List, but featuring other players. Obviously, I don't currently have Herschel's card in any of these sets, or, by definition, they wouldn't be "most wanted".
I'll list the first five today and the second five, next week.
1. 1992 WILD CARD FIELD FORCE 5 STRIPE
This card is Dan Marino's #19, while Herschel Walker is #21 in the '92 Wild Card Field Force series. The number 5 is nearly impossible to see in this scan, but is easily read when the card is in hand. I should mention that I don't own any of these cards. They are all taken from scans that members have posted on the TCDB.
Actually, I am missing several stripe versions of Walker's cards in the Wild Card sets. I just picked this one for the Most Wanted list.
2. 1995 COLLECTOR'S EDGE 22KG UNNUMBERED
In the regular, numbered version of this set, the cards were serial numbered to 500 and the number was shown on the card back, just beneath the statistics. Some cards without the serial numbers were released. Collectors could send those cards back in and receive a properly numbered card. However, the unnumbered ones are much scarcer today. Brett Favre's card is #71, seen in upper right of card back. Walker's # in the set is 147.
3.1995 COLLECTOR'S EDGE BLACK LABEL SILVER DIE CUT
This is a card I really like the look of. I sure would like to find Herschel's version of it. The die cut across the top looks sharp and I also like the big player names on the bottom. Terry Matcalf is #12, top right, card back. Walker is #147 in this set as well.
4.1995 COLLECTOR'S EDGE EXCALIBUR DIE CUTS SWORD & STONE DIAMOND
All time great, Junior Seau graces card #63 in this set. The Herschel Walker card I seek is #58. The Diamond version is the only one not already in the Hoard. I have the Die Cuts base version, along with the Bronze, Gold and Silver parallels.
5.1995 PACFIC GRIDIRON PLATINUM
These oversized cards came in a base version, in which the lettering was blue and also in red, copper, gold and platinum parallel versions. I have the blue, red and copper, but lack the gold or platinum. Walker is #88 in the set, while Tim Brown, pictured here, is #81, coincidentally, his uniform number.
Hopefully I can find the Herschel Walker examples of these cards in the future.
