2006 Playoff Absolute Memorabilia Tools of the Trade Material Double Blue #TOT-60

Despite this card having a relatively high serial # of 50, it has been missing from my collection for a long time.  This is a 2006 Playoff Absolute Memorabilia  Tools of the Trade Material Double Blue card of Herschel Walker.

Another thing I wanted to talk about is how dark the card image comes out when scanned.  That is what your seeing above.  The cards have a mirror like surface on the front and as a result, the scans almost always come out dark.

Here is a photo I took of the card front.  Although it's a bad image, you can get a better idea of what the card actually looks like:

Still partially dark, but you can begin to see more of the card.  Here's another shot I took of the card while on my scanner.  It's a bit blurry, but here it is:

Finally, here is a picture of the back of the card:

As you can see, this card is #1 out of 50.  Unfortunately, the TCDB rule is that card images can only be scanned, not photographed, so if you see this card on that site, it will look like the top image in this post.  I'm happy to add it to the Hoard in any case.

2022 Panini Mosiac-Mosiac No Huddle Purple #236

Serial numbered to 50, these 2022 Panini Mosiac-Mosiac No Huddle cards can be distinguished by the little bubbles on the card front.  The Purple version of Herschel's is shown above.

2002 Donruss Gridiron Kings Chicago Collection #160

I decided to take a break from all the 2022 Mosiacs I've been showing and post a very hard to find card of Herschel, which I just obtained.

This is a 2002 Donruss Gridiron Kings #160 of Herschel Walker, but what makes it special is the stamp on the card front.  Originally, these cards could only be found at the 23rd annual Sports Collectors Convention, which was held in Chicago, Illinois, in March of 2002.

They were available for redemption only at the convention, now of course, they can be found on the secondary market.  Although I've been collecting Walker cards for many years and this is the first time I've seen one come up for sale.

The cards are serial numbered to just five each.  This example is #1 of 5.  I should note that the cards have a very distinct white border, which is washed out in the background of this scan.

As always, I'm glad to fill in a long empty space in the Hoard.

2022 Panini Mosiac-Mosiac Gold/Mosiac Choice Black Gold

I'm posting two Panini  Mosiac cards together here, to illustrate how Mosiac cards can be very similar, yet different, at the same time.  First, is the 2022 Panini Mosiac Gold card:

As can be seen on the card back, these are serial numbered to 10.  This one is #6.  Now, for the Mosiac Choice Black Gold edition:

The Choice Black Gold cards only have a serial run of eight.  This is card #7 in the set.  So two Mosiac Gold cards, but two completely different cards.

You have to be careful if you buy Panini's on the secondary market, because often, sellers will just list either one of these two cards as "Mosiac Gold", when they are completely different cards.

2022 Panini Mosiac-Mosiac Tessellation #236

Okay, I admit, I did not know what "tessellation" meant.  Apparently, it is a term for geometric shapes on a surface, which do not overlap, or have gaps.

Sounds good.  All I know is that it's another Herschel card for the Hoard.  The Mosiac Tessellation cards are serial numbered to 15, this is #6, which can be located on the card back in the upper left hand corner.

2022 Panini Mosiac Silver #236

This is a 2022 Panini Mosiac Silver card of Herschel Walker.  I actually had this card early on in my quest for the Mosiacs and didn't realize it.  In the scan, the background on the card front looks muted and subdued, however, in hand the front is a very shiny silver foil.
