2013 Upper Deck Infinite #14

Shown is a 2013 Upper Deck Infinite card of Herschel Walker. Three different sports were featured, football, basketball and golf. The latter largely because of Tiger Woods. These were collegiate cards, depicting all-time college greats. The football set was comprised of 30 cards. Herschel was #14 in the set.

These cards are tough to come across. I was fortunate enough to see one pop up on eBay and jumped on it. There are currently just two images of cards from this set on the TCDB, including this one. At the time of this post, there is just one base card in the set, available on eBay. That is the Michael Jordan, with a better than $680 asking price. The Walker card was much less, albeit still rather pricey. I made an offer, which the seller accepted.

When these cards were issued in 2013, they were not available in stores. This snippet from a Beckett article tells how they could be acquired

. They included cards of Michael Jordan, LeBron James, Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy. You can’t find these in any store.

UD Infinite is only available through Dynamics ePlate, a credit card system with special reward programs. They’re not easy to come by. They require consumers to collect a set of 250 digital cards to get one pack.

However, for a limited time, collectors can get a pack much more simply in one of two ways.

If you’re attending the Valley Forge Show (Pa.) this weekend or the Chantilly Show (Va.) from Oct. 11-13, Dynamics will be in attendance. If you sign up for a card while at the show, you will get one pack of five cards. Collectors can pick football, basketball or golf packs.

“There are a number of great cards that have been pulled,” said Dynamics CEO Jeff Mullen. “The cards are highly limited and very premium.”

Dynamics gave out packs of UD Infinite at the National Sports Collectors Convention in August for people who signed up for the credit card. Some of those cards have shown up eBay.

Whenever there is a space for a Walker card on the TCDB, which is not a serial numbered card and it has not been filled by me or some other member, it's a pretty safe bet that it is a relatively rare card. I'm very pleased to add this to the Herschel Hoard.

2006 Upper Deck Legends-Time Passages Autographs #TP-WA

Next to any cards from Herschel's playing days, which I don't already have, these types of cards     are my favorites. This is a very tough to find, 2006 Upper Deck Legends- Time Passages card, featuring the autographs of Herschel Walker and Joseph Addai, both solid running backs. This space has been long empty at the TCDB, until now. It is only a 20-card set in total and each card is serial numbered to just 5. This is card four out of five. The number can be seen on the card front, between the two autographs. In addition, I am the first one to add any card from this set to the TCDB database. I'm very pleased to add this one to the Hoard.

2023 Panini Prizm Draft Picks-Blue Finite #43

Yet another pickup in the 2023 Panini Prizm Draft Picks line, with their never-ending color variations. This is the Blue Finite example, which is serial numbered to 89. The number is on the card back, in the black space at the bottom.

When a bunch of different cards from this set are laid out, they are quite pretty, with the many subtle and not so subtle, color variations. Taken individually, they can be rather boring. That said, it's still a needed card for the Herschel Hoard. This is the 20th different Walker card I have obtained in this set.
